We invited Prof. Dr. Saad Mekhilef,who is a keen researcher in the field of Power Electronics and Renewable Energy to give us a lecture, titled 'The Role of Power Electronics Towards Achieving SDG โ. Prof Saad was listed by Thomson Reuters (Clarivate Analytics) as one of the Highly Cited (Hi.Ci) engineering researchers in the world in 2018,2019 and 2020. He is also actively involved in industrial consultancy for major corporations in the Power Electronics and Renewable Energy projects.
Industrial Open Month is an annual career fair hold by MESA, acting as a platform to facilitate the connection of students with the employers. A series of interesting and informative activities are designed with the objective of providing career insights and promoting internships and career opportunities to students.
The workshop was held with the motive to enhance the students' personal skillset as we believe Adobe Photoshop is an essential software in social branding which is the new norm of marketing strategy in this era. We invited our former MESA President, Mr. Cheah Heng Yao, who is experience in designing software to share some tips in using Adobe Photoshop.
We invited Professor Ir. Dr. Hazlie Bin Mokhlis, who is a keen researcher in the field of electrical power system analysis and simulation to give us a lecture, titled โ Role of Power System Towards Achieving SDG โ.Prof. Hazlie was the chairman of IEEE Power Energy Society, Malaysia Chapter Session 2020 to 2021. He was recognized by Stanford University in 2020 as one of the top 2% scientist in the world. On the next year, he was awarded as Top Research Scientist Malaysia.

CODE.EE is a programming competition established by MESA in collabration with the Department of Electrical Engineering starting from 2020 to provide exposure for freshmen on programming culture besides providing the chance for students networking. Student need to work in a team to solve question based on the given programming language. (C++. Python, Java, C#,etc.)

2nd & 30th November 2021 | Industrial Talk
Initiated by Vitrox Sdn Bhd, the talk focused on introduction to inside and outside of digital camera, digital image acquisition tools, digital camera-computer interface, types of sensors used and result of image acquisition, which basically explโains every step from sensor to digital image. The talk was hosted by two managers from the R&D department of Vitrox, which are Mr. Chong Wei Chin and Mr. Lee Sung Way and students had the opportunity to learn the usage of machine vision in fault detection and the processes involved.

Supported by Motorola, the talk aims to raise the awareness on how the threat will impact users like us. Several case studies of cybersecurity in reality were covered to let the students understand better on some of the commonly known cybersecurity threats. The talk was given by Mr. Ong Hean Kuan who is experienced in os security, vulnerabilities assessment and cybersecurity building blocks.

The material includes how to brand yourself on LinkedIn and what are the young talent opportunities on LinkedIn. Some example of good profiles were shown and the speakers highlighted the distinguished points of the profiles as compared to the others.
